Believe Because it works!

So after a week of following and contributing to my weightloss/fitness communities I weighed myself and found that I lost 3 pounds this past week and feel great about it. It's really neat realizing that there are other people out there just like me trying to achieve the same goals that I am. WeightWatchers has helped me track what I eat and introduced me to several tasty, healthier options and allowed me to create something similiar to that of a Facebook profile on the site. Also, with myfitnesspal I've been able to learn and apply several fitness tips that fit right into my everyday life. I never thought that an online class titled Web 2.0 would help me become a more active person. Life is Good!

  1. Glad to hear you're on the road to losing weight. Congrats. There is an old saying, "Knowledge is power". I suppose the opposite can be said, no, not "ignorance is bliss", but that a lack of knowledge can render oneself helpless. I think this is true, that the more we can empower ourselves with practical knowledge, the less we are slaves to our ignorance. And what better way to have more knowledge than to find out what others are doing. I think Web 2.0 opens the door for us to share information/knowledge so that we can know that we're not alone. That there are others with the exact same situation as us. Once we see that, we can therefore set out to explore solutions, and also make us feel better that we're not alone. Thanks for sharing this!
